What Do The Energy Ratings Mean?
All air conditioners have a star rating system. Generally known as the EER (Energy Efficiency Ratio). The EER is a measurement of the input power to the output energy produced by the air conditioner. For example one input unit of energy power to a compressor motor produces three times the output energy for cooling. A ratio of 3:1. Therefore the higher the output energy rating, the higher the energy efficiency of the air conditioning unit. A higher rating also means less energy been used in the power consumption to run the unit.

To save on energy cost and reduce your electricity bill follow the following:
It would be advisable to choose well known brands that have a good reputation for product reliability and a good energy star rating. Whilst some brands may be cheaper the cost in repair and power bills in the long term may be regrettable. The best air conditioners, are ones with a high energy star rating for heating and cooling.
